The California women’s basketball team will play an exhibition game against reigning NCAA national champion UCLA on Oct. 14 at 6 p.m. PT at Haas Pavilion, the program announced Wednesday. There will be a presale for current season ticket holders starting today before tickets go on sale to the general public and students on Friday which will be available for purchase HERE. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Jason Kidd Foundation, established by the Hall of Fame Cal alumnus.
This marks the first matchup between the former Pac-12 Conference foes since the Bruins played in Haas Pavilion on Feb. 2, 2024, and the 84th overall meeting in the series history. This will also be the first time Cal will host the previous year’s national champions since facing Stanford on Feb. 12, 1993.
Under head coach Charmin Smith, who is entering her eighth season at the helm, Cal returns seven players from last season’s roster, including four of the team’s top five leading scorers. Among the returners is All-ACC Second-Team selection Lulu Twidale, who last season set program records for both single-season and career 3-pointers, and finished fifth in the NCAA in triples, and who will enter the 2026-27 season ranked second in the country for career 3-pointers. The Golden Bears finished the 2025–26 season with an overall record of 21–15, marking the team’s third consecutive winning season, while advancing to the quarterfinals of the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT).
