Wednesday Impact Day for forecast triple-digit heat across Northern California
Wednesday and Thursday are KCRA 3 weather Impact Days. Afternoons will be much hotter than what we’ve gotten used to and mornings will feel muggy.
For the first time in a month, temperatures are forecast to hit the triple digits in the Valley.
Wednesday and Thursday are KCRA 3 weather Impact Days because of how the heat could affect outdoor activities. Those sensitive to heat or who work outdoors should take extra measures to stay hydrated and minimize prolonged time outside.
Mornings will be mild to warm. Afternoons will be hot with highs between 98 and 104 in the Valley. Foothills temperatures will peak in the mid to upper 90s.
There is a chance for a few Tahoe area showers Thursday, but anything that pops up will quickly move to the east into Nevada.
A quick cooldown begins on Friday as onshore winds pick up. Friday through Sunday will be breezy in the mountains and in the Delta. Temperatures will run a little cooler than normal this weekend.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen triple digits in Northern California, but that level of heat will be here Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
Scattered clouds and light winds will keep overnight temperatures very warm, too.

Scattered clouds on Wednesday will do little to keep the heat down Wednesday afternoon. Humidity will be noticeable too.
A couple of humid days
Wednesday and Thursday will feel humid in the Valley and Foothills as leftover moisture from tropical storm Marie moves in from the south. There will be a nice drop in temperatures and humidity on Friday.

Over the past 30 years, Sacramento’s average last 100° day is September 8th. Several recent years have stuck pretty close to that average.
Foothills & Sierra 7 day forecast
It will be hot and muggy in the Foothills on Wednesday and Thursday. There will be waves of clouds that occasionally cut back the intense sun. The Foothills will stay dry, but there is a chance for a few Tahoe area showers on Thursday.
Valley 7 day forecast
A short but intense spike in the heat hits Wednesday and Thursday. West winds will pick up Friday and help to drive temperatures and humidity back down and keep it that way for a while.
