Chilling court documents reveal woman’s warning about stalker before deadly Sacramento Panera shooting
Records show she accused Rohit Rohit of tracking her, tampering with her car, and threatening gun violence months before the fatal shooting
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. —
A woman fatally shot outside a Panera Bread had sought court protection months earlier from the man authorities say killed her, according to court documents obtained by KCRA 3.
The woman filed a request for a civil harassment restraining order against 22-year-old Rohit Rohit in May. In the filing, she wrote that his alleged stalking began around September 2025 and had “progressively escalated in frequency and severity.”
The woman said she knew Rohit through DoorDash pickups from her workplace.

She described an April 23 incident in which Rohit allegedly parked outside her home for hours while waiting to communicate with her. She called that behavior a “daily occurrence.”
The woman also accused Rohit of tampering with her vehicle by removing air from its tires and installing a tracking device without her knowledge or consent. According to her written declaration, Rohit later admitted to the alleged tampering.
She further alleged that Rohit attempted to coerce her into marriage and prevent her from socializing with other people.
When the court form asked whether Rohit had used or threatened to use a weapon, the woman checked “yes.”
“Threatened to shoot himself or anyone that I meet,” she wrote.
The woman asked the court to prohibit Rohit from contacting, harassing, threatening or stalking her. She also requested that he remain at least 100 yards away from her, her home, workplace and vehicle.
A proof of personal service filed with the court shows Rohit was served with temporary restraining order documents on May 19.
In requesting an expedited hearing, the woman wrote that the “ongoing and escalating” harassment and stalking had caused significant emotional distress, including anxiety.
“This behavior continues to worsen over time,” she wrote.
Nearly four months later, Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies responded to the 800 block of Howe Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting outside the Panera Bread near Northrup Avenue.
The Sheriff’s Office said Rohit waited in the restaurant’s parking lot before confronting the woman. As she attempted to run away, investigators said Rohit chased her and shot her multiple times. Authorities said he then shot her in the head at close range.
Investigators have described the shooting as an isolated incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
