Expect a mild morning with scattered clouds and light winds before clouds thin and onshore flow returns later today.
Stronger onshore flow will bring cooler weather Friday, with temperatures dipping slightly below normal this weekend.
Thursday forecast
Thursday is another KCRA 3 Impact Day because of triple-digit high temperatures in the Valley.
The morning will be very warm, too, with some Valley spots starting close to 70 degrees when the sun comes up just before 7 a.m.
Heat alerts
Heat is widespread across California this week.
Central Valley temperatures will be around 100 degrees Thursday.
The thermometer won’t reach that high along the Southern California coast, but tropical humidity will make the air feel much warmer than it actually is.
Back to ‘comfortable’ next week
Valley highs will drop into the 80s this weekend and stay there next week.

Northern California will settle back into a stretch of pleasantly warm afternoons and cool mornings next week. Intense heat will once again target the South.

It will be breezy in the mountains as cooler air comes in. Expect gusty winds Friday, Saturday and Sunday around Lake Tahoe and other places on the crest and east slope.
