A woman died and two others were seriously injured after a crash on southbound Capital City Freeway near Watt Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP said the crash happened around 4:16 p.m. when a vehicle went off the road and crashed into a tree. Three women in the car suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital. The driver later died at the hospital.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
