Fieldwork Brewing Co., the Berkeley-based craft brewery that opened its first Sonoma County location last year, is tapping into the wine market.

Known as Fieldwork Cellars, the new wine label seeks to satiate customers who have requested an expanded wine menu.
Produced with the help of several local wineries, the portfolio includes a Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the Russian River Valley, a canned sparkling wine and Zinfandel rosé from the El Dorado appellation and a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
“There are deals galore in the wine space right now because producers are really hurting,” said Barry Braden, owner and founder of Fieldwork Brewing. “We were able to secure some great bulk wine from some very, very good vineyards.”

Braden, who owns a vineyard in the Sierra foothills, supplied the Zinfandel grapes for the rosé from his own property. He declined to disclose the source of the other fruit.
Fieldwork Cellars joins the company’s existing lineup of craft beer, nonalcoholic beers, artisan sodas and canned mocktail Supertonics.

“We want our wines to represent Fieldwork’s high quality. We’re not just phoning them in,” Braden said. “We want people to know there is something for everyone here. That is our bottom line.”
