14 ambulatory surgery centers recognized by CASA, with Fort Sutter Surgery Center named Surgery Center of the Year

Patients across Northern California rely on Sutter’s ambulatory surgery centers for everything from routine procedures to specialized outpatient care. In August, that work earned statewide recognition.

Fort Sutter Surgery Center was named Surgery Center of the Year by the California Ambulatory Surgery Association, one of 14 ambulatory surgery centers in the organization to receive an ASC Excellence Award by CASA this year. A leader in California’s ambulatory surgery industry, CASA represents nearly 400 member ASCs throughout the state.

This distinction marks the fifth time since 2017 that a Sutter ambulatory surgery center has earned CASA’s highest honor as Surgery Center of the Year and underscores the division wide commitment to high-quality, compassionate surgical care.

The CASA ASC Excellence Award is considered the highest honor for ambulatory surgery centers in California, recognizing locations that demonstrate industry-leading best practices and high-performing ambulatory surgical care.

The recognition adds to a growing list of national accolades for Sutter’s ambulatory surgery centers. In March, U.S. News & World Report named nine Sutter entities among its Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers 2026.

These recognitions reflect something simple for patients: access to high-quality surgical care close to home. For Sutter teams, they represent years of dedication to delivering safe, efficient and compassionate care across the communities the health system serves.
