Video footage showing a July attack on a mother and daughter in their Foothill Farms garage has been released as the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office identifies the suspect as Faryeshyi Allahdin.
According to Sgt. Edward Igoe, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, the attack happened on July 15 at around 6:30 a.m. Deputies got a call about a disturbance at the Starbucks on Elkhorn Boulevard and Diablo Drive. They say Allahdin, described as a transient subject, was behind the store counter and armed with a “kitchen knife.”
Igoe said employees hid in the back room while they waited for police to arrive, but Allahdin already fled by the time they got there. Deputies searched the nearby area and an officer quickly spotted Allahdin walking on Diablo Drive.
As the deputy drove towards Allahdin, he ran into an open garage of a residence on the 5700 block of Diablo Drive, said Igoe. Inside the garage, a 63-year-old mother was getting into her vehicle when Allahdin stabbed and cut her multiple times.
According to Igoe, the woman’s 26-year-old daughter heard screams and saw Allahdin on top of her mother.
“She then went after the suspect in an attempt to save her mother’s life. At that point, the suspect started violently attacking her as well, and that’s right when our deputy pulled up,” Igoe said.
Witnessing the attack that unfolded within seconds, the deputy drove into the driveway and, as Allahdin continued stabbing the daughter, the deputy fired his handgun and struck Allahdin.
“Additional deputies arrived and immediately began providing life saving measures to the suspect and both victims,” said Igoe. “First personnel responded to the scene and pronounce the suspect deceased.”
Both victims were taken to an area hospital for treatment and they were listed in serious but stable condition, according to the sheriff’s office. No deputies were injured during this incident.
