An arson suspect was in California Highway Patrol custody after grass fires near a freeway transition road in Sherman Oaks.
About five separate spot fires burned Saturday morning near the transition road connecting the southbound 405 Freeway to the westbound 101 Freeway. There were not reports of injuries or structure damage.
The transition road was closed during the fire response.
An arson suspect was found at the scene and taken into CHP custody, the fire department said.
