Brush fire burns on hillside in Sunland – NBC Los Angeles

A brush fire was burning Saturday afternoon in the Sunland area north of Los Angeles.

The fire was estimated at about 2 acres with a moderate rate of spread near the 11000 block of North Oro Vista Avenue.

No structures were threatened and no evacuations were ordered, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. Aerial footage from NewsChopper4 showed several homes on top of the hillside where the fire was burning.

Officials say the forward progress was stopped before 4:45 p.m., adding that arson was requested for a possible suspect. No other details were immediately available.
