Power outage near Oakland’s Coliseum station suspends BART service – NBC Bay Area

BART service was suspended in some parts of the East Bay on Saturday due to a PG&E power outage, according to authorities.

Officials initially said the service was suspended due to a fire near the Coliseum station in Oakland. Later, authorities said BART halted service between its Lake Merritt and Hayward stations due to an “equipment problem on the track.”

BART then clarified the service was stopped due to a PG&E power outage near the Coliseum station.

The service was suspended between the Fruitvale and Bay Fair stations, according to authorities. Officials said alternative bus service via AC Transit was made available.
