PONTIAC, Mich. – A 32-year-old Pontiac man was sentenced on Thursday to life without the possibility of parole in connection to a fatal drive-by shooting in the city last year.
An Oakland County jury found Tremaine Jevon Love guilty in July of first-degree murder and several other charges for the murder of 26-year-old Auburn Hills resident Thomas Jerrell Washington in June 2025.
Witnesses told authorities that a man in a gray car fired several shots near Auburn Avenue and Russell Street in Pontiac before fleeing from the scene. According to investigators, Washington suffered gunshot wounds to his wrist, torso and back and was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries. Multiple shell casings were found at the scene, police said.
Love was arrested hours later during a traffic stop in the area of Middlebelt and Long Lake roads in West Bloomfield Township.
The jury found him guilty of all counts, including first-degree murder, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and two counts of felony firearm.
