A man was shot Saturday night near Fresno State’s Valley Children’s Stadium.
The shooting occurred just after 9:45 p.m. at Bulldog Lane and Ninth Street.
Fresno Police Lt. Alfonso Castillo said the man was struck several times in the upper body. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Castillo said the shooting occurred at an apartment complex near Bulldog and Ninth and was not related to the Fresno State football game.
“We have a large section of the apartment complex,” Castillo said.
No suspect description was released.
Ninth Street is expected to remain closed for several hours as detectives investigate the shooting.
