Man’s body pulled from American River in Sacramento County
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A man’s body was recovered after he drowned in the American River on Sunday, according to fire officials.
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said it responded to a reported water rescue in the Arden-Arcade area.
People walking along the shoreline of the river saw a man submerged in the water and called 911, Sac Metro Fire said. Crews found the man underwater and brought him on to a rescue boat, where he was pronounced dead.
The man’s death is under investigation by Sacramento County Park rangers.
