Elk Grove recycling center hosts free tire drop-off week for Sacramento County residents
ELK GROVE, Calif. —
Elk Grove’s Special Waste Collection Center is accepting old tires for drop-off this week, offering residents a chance to dispose of them responsibly.
Each month, the city hosts a free weeklong collection event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., though residents from anywhere in Sacramento County can participate.
This month’s event began on Saturday and runs through Wednesday, Sept. 16.
The facility is located at 9255 Disposal Lane off Survey Road and Grant Line Road.
Residents can bring up to nine tires per collection event. Passenger car, motorcycle, truck and bike tires are accepted, along with tires with rims.
Large agriculture tires like tractor tires are not accepted.
