Father, son convicted of several armed ATM robberies in Sacramento County
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. —
A father and son were convicted by a jury in a series of 2023 armed robberies at ATMs, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.
Myahl Chapman-Joseph was convicted of eight counts of robbery and one count of attempted robbery. His father, Deleon Joseph, was convicted of one count of robbery.

From Sept. 9, 2023 to Dec. 25, 2023, the father and son duo carried out nine robberies at Wells Fargo and Golden 1 Credit Union ATM locations, the DA’s office said.
Prosecutors said the jury found that both were armed with firearms during the robberies.
During each robbery, prosecutors said Chapman-Joseph wore a mask and ambushed victims while they were taking money out of the ATM and threatening them at gunpoint. Prosecutors said an investigation revealed his father acted as the getaway driver.
During a search, two guns used in the robberies were found at a home in Sacramento’s Meadowview neighborhood, prosecutors said.
Chapman-Joseph faces a sentence of 46 years while Joseph faces seven years in state prison.
The father and son is set to be sentenced on Oct. 28.
