FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — An injured rock climber was rescued from a remote area at Courtright Reservoir on Friday after falling while scaling Power Dome and badly hurting his foot.

Deputies with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team responded alongside the California Highway Patrol’s Air Unit out of Paso Robles on September 11th.

A deputy made his way down to the injured climber to package him for extraction.

CHP’s H-70 helicopter then lowered another deputy to help hook the climber to the hoist.

The CHP air team flew the man out, where medics treated him.

A deputy assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Drone Unit monitored the rescue and captured video of the operation.
