BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who died from heat exposure as 64-year-old Kathryn Ann Slater of Ridgecrest.
The coroner’s report said on June 19, 2026, at around 7:38 a.m., Slater was found dead in the 700 block of S. Allen Street in Ridgecrest.
The report said an autopsy was conducted and the cause of death was determined to be environmental heat exposure. The manner was an accident.
