Echo Park—California Dirt, a jewelry brand founded by artist and designer Carmen Kelly, will open its first permanent storefront Sept. 26. Known for nature-inspired sterling silver accessories, the brand also encompasses ceramics, illustration, tattoos and furniture. Bookstore to close

Lincoln Heights—The Libros Lincoln Heights is closing after three years, founders Jesse Marez and Dana Valenzuelá Marez announced on Instagram. The couple did not explain what prompted the upcoming closure. The bookstore at 3433 N. Broadway was founded to showcase local stories, authors and artists, carried books in several languages and hosted works by Lincoln Heights writers. The public was invited to the shop on September 30 “as we sunset” the business, according to an Instagram post. “Thank you, Lincoln Heights,” the couple wrote. “It was an honor.”

Los Feliz–The Silverlake Flea is on the move, again. The flea market was founded nearly 20 years ago in Silver Lake before it moved in 2019 to the Taix restaurant parking lot in Echo Park. Last April, the marketplace decamped for a new home in an industrial section of Atwater Village after construction work began on a new residential and commercial development on the Taix property. Now, less than six months after its last move, the Silverlake Flea announced on Instagram it has jumped to yet another new home at 1900 N. Vermont Avenue in Los Feliz. No reason was given for the move. Will the Silverlake Flea ever return to Silver Lake? Stay tuned.
