A Sacramento pet photographer is offering free photo sessions for pets in exchange for donations of dog or cat food to help the Front Street Animal Shelter
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
A Sacramento pet photographer is offering free mini photo sessions for pets in exchange for donations of dog or cat food to support the Front Street Animal Shelter.
“All you have to do is call us, say that you want to donate a bag of food, and in exchange, you’ll get a free flash session or a mini session, 50 minutes in the studio. Photos of your dog, photos of your cat,” said Caroline Winata, founder of Pet Photos by Olin.
Winata, who volunteers at the shelter, said she was motivated to act after seeing the shelter’s pet food pantry was empty.
“I saw that the pantry was empty and I just knew I had to do something about it,” she said.
The initiative called “Fill the Pantry” began this week, with Winata asking for donations of a 20-pound bag of dog food or a 15-pound bag of cat food in exchange for the complimentary photo sessions.
“We actually have had three people that booked their session in exchange for the dog food donation and we have had, I think, 22 bags dropped off, some Amazon delivered to us and so I’m going to buy a little ruler that we can put on the wall and see we can hit a marker,” Winata said.
The effort will continue until the end of the month, with a goal of filling one truck with pet food.
