SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
Saturday, Festival Del Sol is bringing a vibrant celebration of Latin culture, music, dance, food, art, and community to the Maple Center in Sacramento.
The festival will feature a large lineup of cultural dancers performing multi-Latino dances, including performers from the CaliDanza Dance Company. Organizers hope the performances will connect with anyone hoping to learn more about their community.
“It’s important to share who we are as a people, what we’ve learned, what we’ve gone through as a people,” Steven Valencia, CaliDanza artistic director, said. “There aren’t a lot of festivals in the region anymore that celebrate Latino culture.”
Dancers from CaliDanza stopped by the KCRA studio to offer a vibrant preview of one of the dances that will be on display.
Festival Del Sol will take place on Saturday, starting at 12 p.m. at the Maple Neighborhood Center in Sacramento. Admission is $10; tickets can be purchased at calidanza.com.
