The program includes museums and attractions stretching across the region, from Oceanside and Escondido to Julian and Campo and now south into Tijuana.

The options are equally varied. Families can visit art museums such as the San Diego Museum of Art and Visions Museum of Textile Art, explore automotive museums or find destinations devoted to music, surfing, comics and miniatures. The program also includes some of San Diego’s best-known attractions, including the USS Midway Museum and Maritime Museum of San Diego.

“We love seeing families bring their kids into our museums, some for the very first time,” Felkner said. “With over 60 museums and cultural sites to choose from, it’s the perfect opportunity for families to check out something new or return to a favorite.”

The San Diego Museum Council hopes those visits do more than fill an October afternoon.

“Our hope is that by introducing kids to these fun, enriching experiences at an early age, we’re helping to create a connection to arts and culture that can last their whole lives,” Felkner said. “Imagine what’s possible when every kid grows up with a bigger, richer world to explore!”
