A Paramount High School teacher was arrested Thursday morning on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material, authorities announced.
Detectives with the Buena Park Police Department arrested 56-year-old Moises Garcia at about 7 a.m. Sept. 17, according to a department news release.
Police said detectives also served search warrants at Garcia’s home and workplace as part of an effort to obtain additional evidence in the investigation.
Garcia is employed as a teacher at Paramount High School, authorities said, though did not say which of the two campuses he taught at.

School officials have been notified of the arrest and are cooperating with investigators, police said.
Authorities did not release information about what led detectives to Garcia, how long he had been under investigation or where the alleged material was discovered.

Police also did not say whether investigators believe any students were victimized or whether the allegations involve anyone connected to the school.
The investigation remains ongoing.
