A Kern County jury convicted a man Wednesday of first-degree residential burglary, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office reported.
A news release from the agency said defendant Mauro Nain Zepeda Gonzalez entered a home in east Bakersfield on Feb. 16 while one of the property’s residents, a 14-year-old girl, was still inside.
It said Zepeda Gonzalez wandered through the house before attempting to enter her bedroom, but that she was able to block his entry.
He faces up to four years in prision when sentenced Oct. 15 in Kern County Superior Court.
