Re “San Diego council trying to put brakes on robotaxis” (Sept. 14): Any time Sean Elo-Rivera and the City Council collectively open their mouths, bad things happen. Their latest nonsensical, tone-deaf brainchild is an attempt to put the squeeze on robotaxis. While other cities embrace the technology, San Diego’s council members have delusions of grandeur. With the density increases they have pushed (another blunder), we will need robotaxis and fewer cars.
It really is astonishing how narrow-minded and intellectually challenged they are. Their reasoning: They are worried about robotaxis taking people’s jobs away. Well, then maybe we should have stopped all progress at the horse and buggy. The coachmen would still have their jobs. Apparently, they don’t mind being frozen in time.
