The Rochester Community Schools Foundation invites families and individuals of all ages to participate in the Hometown Hustle 5K and one-mile color run this weekend.
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday at Chief Financial Credit Union Headquarters, 200 Diversion Street in Rochester Hills.
The opening ceremony begins at 8 a.m., followed by the color run at 8:10 and 5K run at 8:30.
Celebrating its 21st anniversary, this annual tradition is the premier fundraiser for the RCS Foundation, which supports student learning in the Rochester Community Schools district through scholarships, school grants and enrichment programs.
“Over the past 20 years, the Hometown Hustle has contributed more than $650,000 to support academics, arts and athletics for Rochester Community Schools students,” said Joann Beydoun, RCS Foundation director. “We are fortunate to have such generous community partners who value education and invest in our children for a bright future.”
Individuals and groups can participate by running or walking a 5K loop that begins at 200 Diversion Street and runs through the historic neighborhoods of Downtown Rochester, the Rochester Municipal Park, and the Paint Creek and Clinton River Trails.
Online registration will remain open until the morning of the event.
Registration is $30 for adults and $20 for children under 18. One registration allows for participation in both the color run and 5K.
Race participants will receive a t-shirt, bib and medal and the event will go off rain or shine.
