An Oakland County judge said on Monday, Nov. 10, that she will sign off on a settlement agreement for the divorce of high-profile business and philanthropic couple Dan and Jennifer Gilbert.

Dan Gilbert appeared on screen with his attorney, Jeffrey Morganroth, and answered a series of quick yes-or-no questions during the settlement conference, which was conducted over ZOOM and lasted about five minutes.

Quicken Loans founder Dan Gilbert and his wife Jennifer announced on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2023 at the Book Tower in Detroit a $375 million donation toward a physical medicine and rehabilitation facility as part of Henry Ford Health’s campus expansion, in honor of their late son Nick.

Jennifer Gilbert was represented at the proceeding by her attorney, David Mendelson, and did not appear.

The Gilberts reached a confidential postnuptial agreement for dividing up property and other matters several months before they filed for divorce in September. Dan Gilbert is the plaintiff in the divorce case and Jennifer Gilbert is the defendant.

“The court is satisfied that there has been a breakdown of the marital relationship,” Judge Amanda Shelton said. “I will sign your judgment.”
