Sacramento County
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey at Golden 1 Center
The “Greatest Show on Earth” is happening in Sacramento this weekend. The circus will run through Sunday, Sept. 20 at Golden 1 Center, featuring stunts, acrobatics and comedy. For tickets and more information, click here.
Sacramento State vs. NDSU
Sacramento State’s football team will be hosting an FBS opponent for the first time since transitioning to the MAC. North Dakota State University, previously an FCS powerhouse, also made the jump to the FBS level this season and now represents the Mountain West Conference. Tickets for the duel between the Hornets and the Bison can be found here. The game will be aired on ESPN at 7:3o p.m. on Saturday.
Sacramento Republic FC
Sac Republic is taking on San Antonio FC on Sunday afternoon at Heart Health Park. What’s more? Sunday is Superhero Day at the park. Find tickets for the game, which starts at 4 p.m., here.
Three nights of concerts at Ace of Spades
Friday, Saturday and Sunday night there will be artists headlining shows at Ace of Spades in Sacramento. On Friday, R&B veteran Jon B will take the stage. On Saturday it will be rock band Citizen and on Sunday The Growlers will close out the weekend. Find tickets here.
Fair Oaks Chicken Festival
Still looking to hatch a plan for the weekend? Look no further than the Fair Oaks Chicken Festival taking place on Saturday. From noon to 6 p.m. there will be family-friendly, chicken-themed activities. Learn more here.
ACC Ohana Walk
The 5th annual ACC Senior Services Ohana Walk in Sacramento will raise money for home and community based programs. Last year more than 1,000 people of all ages participated in the walk. 2026 Brazilian Day Sacramento Street Festival
Brazilian culture will be on full display in the streets of Sacramento on Saturday. The
Brazilian Day Sacramento Street Festival is free to attend and will feature Brazilian Bands, Folkloric Brazilian Performances, food, vendors, Samba Dancing, Capoeira and more. The event runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on 3rd Avenue between 34th Street and Broadway.
Meet the Machines
Children get a chance on Saturday to “meet the machines” at this annual event at Hagan Community Park. From 10 a.m. to noon kids of all ages have the opportunity to climb on and explore over 20 different types of exciting machines and unique vehicles. There will also be other activities for children at the park during the event. Learn more here.
CrockerCon
The Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento is hosting a free pop-culture celebration on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. CrockerCon will include more than 60 exhibitors and comic book creators from California and beyond. Cosplay is highly encouraged. Learn more here.
Yolo County
UC Davis football’s home opener
After beginning the season with a three-game road trip, the Aggies are finally back home this weekend. UC Davis will host Stetson University on Saturday night, looking to improve to 3-1 on the season. The game begins at 7 p.m. and tickets are available here.
San Joaquin County
Lodi Grape Festival
Live music, exhibits, food vendors and carnival rides are just some of the offerings at this year’s Lodi Grape Festival. San Joaquin County has celebrated the grape harvest for nearly 90 years. You can join in on the fun from Thursday through Sunday. On Friday the event is free for all from noon to 5 p.m. Find tickets and more information here.
Stockton Pride Festival
The 15th annual Stockton Pride Festival will take place on Saturday at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza. The free community celebration will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., featuring live entertainment, vendors and more. According to Stockton Pride’s website, volunteers are still needed and welcomed.
Stanislaus County
Modesto Greek Food Festival
From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Modesto will host a food festival. The festival includes dine-in and drive-thru meal options. Learn more here.

Placerville Oktoberfest
An Oktoberfest event free for all ages will take place in Placerville this weekend. From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Main Street will be flooded with German food, live music and lederhosen (Really, there’s a costume contest.) Find more details here.
