AMERICAN CANYON –A 59-year-old Menlo Park man was arrested Friday in American Canyon following an armed road-rage incident in Oakland, according to police.
During the incident, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim multiple times, the American Canyon Police Department said in a news release. The encounter, police added, was caught on camera.
Additional details about the incident were not immediately available.
Just before 11 a.m., American Canyon officers found the suspect vehicle, a white Ford SUV, on Alta Loma Drive and the driver standing nearby, according to police.
Police said a search of the SUV turned up a 9mm handgun, as well as a loaded magazine and a bag containing rifle ammunition.
The suspect was prohibited from possessing or owning firearms or ammunition, according to police.
Police said the man was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm inside a vehicle, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and carrying a loaded firearm. He was booked into Napa County jail.
