The Saturday late-night slot features a showdown between former Mountain West Conference foes.
The San Jose State Spartans (2-1) remained in the Mountain West this season, while Fresno State (1-1) joined several other former conference members in moving to the Pac-12. This will be the first true test for where both these teams are at, as their wins have come over struggling MAC opponents (Eastern Michigan and Sacramento State, respectively).
Their losses have also come to the same team, as both lost blowouts to USC, with the Bulldogs being blanked.

If you’re looking for points, this may not be the game for you. San Jose State brings a bit more to the table with a solid quarterback in Luke Weaver and a run game averaging nearly five per carry, but it hasn’t translated to a lot of points.
Fresno State’s offense with quarterback Jaydan Mandal has been more efficient than good, and the run game has also just been average, though Bryson Donelson looks to be a solid lead back. Fresno’s defense could be the difference-maker, as it took its lumps against USC but shut down Sacramento State last weekend.
Given that, I’ll give the nod to Fresno.
