BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A new In-N-Out Burger is coming to Bakersfield, according to the fast-food chain, but the exact location has yet to be announced.

Reports circulated on social media that a new In-N-Out location would be opening in Bakersfield, specifically on the city’s southwest side at Panama Lane and Gosford Road.

When Eyewitness News saw those reports, we asked In-N-Out itself to confirm.

A spokesperson from In-N-Out told Eyewitness News through email:

“We do plan to open a new restaurant in Bakersfield, CA. However, we are still in the development application process, so it’s too early to say when we will be able to obtain the approvals necessary to open a restaurant there. Should we obtain our approvals and permits, it normally takes approximately 8-9 months to complete construction and open for business. We remain hopeful about being able to serve the Bakersfield community with this additional location.”

The fast-food company based in Southern California did not confirm the location of the new restaurant, only that a new one was coming to Bakersfield.

Eyewitness News has also reached out to representatives with the City of Bakersfield, who can confirm that Development Services has received an application from In-N-Out and that it is currently under review. They, too, could not confirm a specific location for the proposed restaurant.

There are currently three In-N-Out Burger locations in Bakersfield:

5100 Stockdale Highway7985 Rosedale Highway2310 Panama Lane

This would be the sixth In-N-Out in Kern County. There’s also a restaurant in Delano and near the Outlets at Tejon.
