The aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln pulled into Guam on Saturday to pick up supplies as it continues its journey home to San Diego during one of the longest deployments in naval history.
The “Abe,” as it’s called by sailors, has been at sea 302 days. This is only its third significant port call since the carrier began its deployment in late November.
The ship, which played a lead role in the U.S.-Iran conflict in the Middle East, is expected to arrive at Naval Air Station North Island in early October.
The Lincoln’s sister carrier, the USS Theodore Roosevelt, is scheduled to deploy from San Diego later this month. It will travel to the Middle East.
