(FOX40.COM) — A Sacramento County park is closed Sunday after suspects “destroyed” facilities throughout the property, officials said.
Sacramento County Regional Parks announced that Ancil Hoffman Park had experienced a “major vandalism event” Sunday morning.
Ten light poles and multiple street signs were knocked down throughout the park, and a photo from the department shows a trash can that appears to have been placed on a toilet. According to officials, sinks were also “ripped off the walls” of at least one restroom.

Ancil Hoffman Park, a 396-acre property in Carmichael, offers public access to trails, picnic areas, a golf course and the Effie Yeaw Nature Center.
The entire park was initially closed while park officials assessed the damage. The golf course and nature center are open as of late Sunday morning, but the park remains closed until officials check for live wires and clean up the vandalism.
