Monday NorCal Forecast: Cloudy start. Afternoon Sierra storms.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
KCRA Meteorologist Tamara Berg shows when the clouds will thin out today and which areas may see some thunderstorms Monday afternoon.
Monday forecast starts out under cloudy skies as a disturbance spin South of the area. As the system moves East today, the clouds will thin out. This system may bring some scattered thunderstorms to the Sierra.
SIERRA STORMS MONDAY
Best location for thunderstorms looks to be South of highway 50. Areas of Eastern Tuolumne County, Alpine and Mono counties could get a storm through sunset.
Storms are capable of producing lightning, downpours and small hail. Some storms may produce dry lightning and this could trigger new fire starts.
MIDWEEK WARMING
High temperatures will move up by Wednesday as the early week system moves East and our region is under a zonal flow pattern.
Summer feeling days expected Wednesday and Thursday as highs peak in the low 90s.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK
The final weekend of September looks mostly sunny and seasonable with high temperatures in the upper 80s.
