FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — Three people were arrested on firearm-related charges after multiple gunshots were detected in southwest Fresno early Sunday morning.
The Fresno Police Department says officers responded around 2:24 a.m. to the area of Fruit and California Avenues after several ShotSpotter activations appeared to show the gunfire moving through the area.
Officers found spent shell casings before hearing additional gunshots.
A 911 caller also reported seeing more gunshots, as well as a white sedan believed to be connected to the shooting.

Police later stopped a vehicle matching the description and noticed spent casings inside the car as they walked up.
Officers removed everyone from the car and recovered three handguns, including one found in a passenger’s waistband.

All three occupants were arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail on firearm-related charges.
They have been identified as Noe Tapia, Leonel Perez, and Isidrio Perez.
