LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Three staff members were wounded, one of them critically, in a shooting Monday in the lobby of an assisted living facility in South Los Angeles, and a suspect who also worked at the building was taken into custody.
The shooting was reported at 10:50 a.m. in the 7000 block of Denver Avenue, near 70th Street, according to the Los Angeles Police and Fire departments.
The facility is called Progressive Home Elderly, according to reports from the scene.
The victims were taken to a hospital, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. One was in critical condition and the other two were stable, according to the LAPD. Police described the victims only as a man in his 60s and two women, one in her 40s and the other in her 70s.
Police also did not immediately release details about the suspect or a possible motive, but witnesses told reporters the shooter was a custodian at the facility. Police would only say the suspect was a man in his 60s.
