John Warner is the chief executive officer of Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles (MMCC), LA County’s only year-round marine mammal rehabilitation center that rescues more marine mammals per mile of coastline than any other organization in the US.
Since joining the organization in 2023, Warner has focused on strengthening the organization’s operational and financial capacity while expanding its public-private partnerships throughout Los Angeles County to ensure that MMCC can respond effectively to the growing challenges facing marine wildlife along one of the nation’s busiest coastlines. The growth and strength of MMCC have become increasingly important as the organization has responded to repeated domoic acid outbreaks along the Los Angeles County coast.
