BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 52-year-old man was arrested after deputies served a search warrant in Taft connected to an alleged criminal-threat incident involving gunfire at a home. During the search, deputies allegedly found rifles, handguns and ammunition.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office said on September 19, 2026, deputies from KCSO Taft, Buttonwillow, and Frazier Park Substations executed a search warrant in the 28100 block of Dustin Acres Road.
KCSO said the warrant was issued as part of an investigation into a criminal threat incident in which a gun was discharged at a home.
During the service of the warrant, deputies found 52-year-old Mauro Galvan of Taft at the property.
According to KCSO, a search of the home resulted in the discovery of several AR-15-style rifles, multiple handguns, and large quantities of ammunition.
Galvan was arrested on a Ramey warrant as well as open charges. He was booked into the Lerdo Justice Facility for:

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public that the negligent discharge of firearms poses a serious threat to community safety.
