FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A man is in stable condition after he was stabbed multiple times in Fresno, according to police.
Officers responded to a report of a stabbing near Sierra Vista and Belmont avenues. Police said the victim, a man in his late 30s, was stabbed multiple times in the upper body during an altercation with the suspect.
A FOX26 photographer at the scene saw a baseball bat lying in the middle of the road near where police were investigating. Police have not said whether the bat was involved in the altercation.

Shortly after the initial call, police said the suspect waved down responding officers and turned himself in.
The victim was listed in stable condition. Police have not released the identities of the victim or suspect. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to determine what led up to the altercation and what charges the suspect could face.
