The Sierra Pacific Golden Bears football team fell to 2-3 overall after a 28-27 loss to Sanger West High on Sept. 18 in Sanger.
The Golden Bears have a bye week on Sept. 26. They then will play Caruthers High on Friday, Oct. 2.
Golden Bears go undefeated at SP Tournament
The Sierra Pacific Golden Bears girls water polo team is currently 9-2 overall after finishing 4-0 at the Sierra Pacific Tournament.
The Golden Bears opened the tournament with a 10-1 win over El Diamante High on Sept. 18. Mia DeLaTorre and Rylee Umscheid each finished with three goals. Kaitlyn Bean had two.
They then earned a 10-4 victory over Bakersfield Christian in their second game of the day on Sept. 18. Alissa Souza and Emma Calvillo each finished with three goals. Bean had two.
Sierra Pacific then defeated Exeter 11-6 in the first game of the day on Sept. 19. Bean finished with three goals, while Bella Calvillo and Souza both finished with two.
The Golden Bears then ended the tournament with a 6-3 win over Lemoore. DeLaTorre had three goals, while Bean, B. Calvillo and Oaklynn Dickey each finished with one.
The Golden Bears were coming off a 22-5 win over Hanford High on Sept. 15. DeLaTorre had seven goals in the win.
Sierra Pacific play Monache High on Wednesday, Sept. 23. They then will compete in the Arroyo Grande Tournament beginning October 1.
Sierra Pacific Volleyball
The Sierra Pacific Golden Bears girls volleyball team moved to 11-7 overall after wins over Hanford West and Roosevelt High.
The Golden Bears played Caruthers High on Sept. 21, no score was available at press time. They then will play Washington Union on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
