A new Major League Volleyball team in the Bay Area now has a name: NorCal Rumble.
The team announced its name on Tuesday and will begin playing at Tech CU Arena in San Jose in 2027.
Kerri Walsh Jennings, a Bay Area native and three-time Olympic gold medalist, is one of the team owners. The volleyball legend and NorCal Rumble President Heather Vaughan joined NBC Bay Area to discuss the team’s new logo, the league and why it is important for the region to have a professional women’s volleyball team.
