FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A man was woken up by officers for a garage fire on Wednesday morning in Fresno, allowing him and his two dogs to escape safely.
The Fresno Fire Department says they responded around 3:30 a.m. to a home near Ashlan and Orchard avenues, where crews found a garage on fire with flames extending through the roof.
Fresno Police arrived first and helped the man get out of the home.
No injuries were reported, and two dogs also made it out safely.

Firefighters contained the flames primarily to the garage, with only minor damage to the living area.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Fire officials are reminding residents to make sure their homes have working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
