Jay Belasco

OBITUARY

Jay, a longtime resident of Poway, California, passed away after a stoic battle with a rare bone marrow cancer. Throughout his illness, just as in his life, Jay was defined by his positivity, kindness, and quiet strength.

A dedicated lifelong athlete, Jay played football in his youth and maintained a passion for fitness, running and lifting weights into his final days. He was also a resourceful handyman who loved tackling home projects. Above all, Jay was a devoted husband to his wife, Charlotte, with whom he shared nearly 39 years of marriage, and a loving father to Lara and Brad. His absolute favorite thing to do was support his children in all of their sports and activities, which inspired him to volunteer as a dedicated supporter of Poway Lacrosse.

Jay is survived by his wife, Charlotte; his children, Lara (and her husband, Parker) and Brad; his sister, Wendy Stewart; and his grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jay’s family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the Poway community for their incredible outpouring of support and donating platelets on his behalf.

In memory of Jay and his heroic battle, please consider scheduling a life-saving platelet donation at your local blood bank if you are able.
