More Information

W. Kamau Bell:

7:30 p.m. Oct. 1. Tickets start at $95.04. Stanford University’s Memorial Auditorium, 551 Jane Stanford Way, Stanford. 650-724-2464. https://live.stanford.edu

The Oakland comic, filmmaker and activist is in the middle of workshopping his new comedy special, marking a broader move back toward stand-up for Bell after shifting his focus to documentary filmmaking during the COVID-19 pandemic. Political by nature, Bell frequently weighs in on current events in his comedy, often criticizing President Donald Trump and his policies.

Since getting back on-stage, Bell has completed several stand-up residencies in the Bay Area. His current “Who’s With Me?” stand-up tour, however, is going nationwide. It is set to launch on Friday-Saturday, Sept. 25-26, in Stamford, Conn., and will wrap up in Bellingham, Wash., on Feb. 20, 2027.

He plans to bring the show’s latest iteration to the South Bay for a performance at Stanford University’s Memorial Auditorium on Oct. 1.
