KERMAN, Calif. (FOX26) — Medical Ministries International (MMI) is sending 10 tons of donated medical supplies and equipment to Ukraine to help people affected by the ongoing war.
The organization loaded more than 1,000 boxes and crates of supplies on Thursday with support from several Valley hospitals and health systems.
The shipment includes wheelchairs, respiratory supplies, hospital beds, and other medical equipment. The supplies will go to Ukrainian hospitals, clinics, and frontline ambulance crews.
The container will head to the Port of Long Beach for ocean transport and is expected to arrive in Kyiv in about nine to 12 weeks.
MMI representatives said it sent its first container to Ukraine on September 9 and will send three in total.
