San Diego is extending the sports arena lease through Dec. 4, 2031, allowing more time to negotiate the broader Midway Rising redevelopment project.
The San Diego City Council will vote Tuesday on a five-year lease amendment with Midway Rising Venue Management LLC. The deal maintains the current revenue-share structure with the following terms:
Escalating Rent: Minimum monthly rent begins at $70,648.07 and increases 3% annually, reaching $79,515.03 in the final year.
Ticket Fees: The city keeps a $3 fee per ticket sold for concerts and events.
Proven Revenue: The existing agreement brought over $1.8 million into city coffers during the lease year ending Dec. 4, 2025.
