Teen leads Sacramento deputies on chase that ends in crash that injures 2, sheriff says

Jonathan AyestasSACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. —

A 15-year-old girl was taken to juvenile hall after she got into a pursuit with law enforcement that ended in a multi-vehicle crash Friday morning, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies around 2:12 a.m. spotted a vehicle driving without its lights on near West El Camino Avenue and Interstate 80, the sheriff’s office said. When they tried to pull over the driver, who turned out to be the teen, she drove away and prompted a chase.

The chase was brief, as the sheriff’s office said the girl got into a crash with two other vehicles on West El Camino and El Centro Road. She was taken to a hospital and was medically cleared before she was booked into juvenile hall.

One of the drivers in the crash was taken to a hospital in critical condition, the sheriff’s office said. The other driver was uninjured.
