FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno Chaffee Zoo announced that the baby giraffe and baby Malayan tapir are exploring their new habitats.
The baby giraffe, Sienna began exploring her habitat in the African Adventure.
Sienna was born on August 18th and was named for the unique shade of her fur at birth.
Staff say she takes after her mom, Siku, in being very observant and perceptive of the world around her.
The baby Malayan tapir Winston began to explore his habitat in Kingdoms of Asia.
Winston was born on July 11th.
Staff say Winston tends to stick close to mom, Ulan, but has gotten more adventurous as he grows more confident.
Both babies will continue to explore their new spaces, with the best viewing opportunities in the morning.
They may not be visible to the public every day, as they will continue to choose whether they’d like to go on habitat or stay behind the scenes.
