Two of California’s most decorated football programs will meet Saturday afternoon when Corona Centennial travels north to face Concord De La Salle at Memorial Stadium on the UC Berkeley campus. The 2 p.m. PT kickoff marks the first meeting between these nationally-ranked programs since their 2015 CIF State Open Division Championship clash, when the Spartans prevailed 28-21 at Sacramento State for their seventh state title.

The Huskies (2-2) returned to form after consecutive one-point losses to Santa Margarita and Mater Dei, bouncing back with a dominant 41-7 victory over visiting Rancho Cucamonga last week. Centennial opened its season with a 41-21 road win at Servite.
De La Salle (4-0) has been equally impressive, rolling past Stockton St. Mary’s 44-7 in its most recent outing while allowing just 20 combined points across its last three victories. The Spartans surrendered a season-high 25 points in their 35-25 season-opening win at Junipero Serra but have tightened defensively over their last three outings.
De La Salle holds a 4-1 edge in the five previous meetings between these programs, all of which came in state championship games.
Opening kickoff is set for 2 p.m. PT on Saturday, September 26 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
