(FOX 5/KUSI) — A vehicle that was involved in a pursuit through several Southern California counties evaded American authorities and crossed into Mexico.

Southern California authorities reported the vehicle stolen out of Ventura around 10:30 a.m., according to authorities who spoke with KTLA.

The vehicle was spotted around 20 minutes later, and officers attempted to make a stop. When the vehicle continued driving, the pursuit started.

The pursuit continued into Los Angeles County across several freeways and into Orange County, reaching Irvine by around 12 p.m.

At around 12:30 p.m., the vehicle entered San Diego County, eventually continuing onto southbound I-805.

In the 1 p.m. hour, the vehicle reached the end of the I-805 and continued through the U.S.-Mexico border.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m., a helicopter crew that was following the pursuit informed FOX 5/KUSI that the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office’s ASTREA team confirmed the vehicle had entered Mexico.
